A Gator’s Dockside bartender is responsible for upkeep of the entire bar area as well as the care and service of all guests in the restaurant.  Bartenders will recognize standards set forth by the corporate office and management in regards to drink recipes, standardized pours/jigger usage, service of alcohol, service of food, and maintenance of the bar area as outlined in training manuals and by trainers or management.  It is a bartender’s responsibility to serve alcohol responsibly and in accordance with local and state laws, and to control the distribution of alcohol in regards to volume and underage persons as well to retain a current food safety certification.  Bartenders will interact with management, as well as all hourly employees in a friendly and non-coercive manner to carry out their assigned duties and provide each guest with the ultimate dining experience. Bartenders are in charge of making alcoholic and frozen drinks in accordance with orders placed by any guest or service staff in a timely manner for delivery by the service staff or other persons to the guest within the time constraints outlined by the corporate office, store standards and or training materials/guidelines.  Bartenders will have full knowledge of the restaurant’s food menu, promotions and specials; present them to every guest every time in a friendly manner while providing service standards throughout their term of employment. It is the duty of this position to inform management of changes in volume or suggested changes in the “pars” of certain items as it is the bartender who is in constant contact with the guests’ requests and expectations.  Bartenders must familiarize themselves with the proper procedures for checking identification for age verification as well as restaurant guidelines involving serving, over-serving, and/or “cutting off” guests.  Cleanliness of the bar is the bartender’s responsibility and as such, the bartender will be required to maintain the bar area (both inside and out ) by utilization of daily and weekly cleaning projects as well as certain additional cleaning projects from time to time.  Bartenders must introduce themselves to the guest and have the friendly ability to build a “regular” cliental and to maintain bar tabs in front of each guest with their name after each drink is served every time. Bartenders will also recognize equipment malfunctions and report them to management immediately in order to maintain the safe, productive environment which is expected by both our guests and our management. It is the specific duty of all employees of Gator’s Dockside to help with the cleaning and maintaining of all common areas of the restaurant as directed by management including but not limited to:  restrooms, dining room floors, kitchen floors, restaurant walls, shelving, sidewalks, windows, doors, games, ice and soda machines, drink stations, carpets, tables, chairs, and cabinets.  As well personal hygiene and cleanliness is always required.
